I have been playing guitar for over 40 years and have been teaching guitar for over 25 years. Until the age of 18, I studied under accomplished D.C. area jazz guitarist Hank Bryant, whose teacher's teacher was none other than legendary classical guitarist Andres Segovia. I studied classical guitar at Saint Mary's College of Maryland and performed in the Saint Mary's College jazz band. After college, I studied under local jazz guitar legend Paul Wingo, who performed regularly in the Baltimore/Washington area. I later earned a master's degree in education and worked as a public school ESOL teacher for several years.  In addition to performing as a solo guitar and singer, I play guitar and sing in Baltimore-based rock bands The Jennifers and Batworth Stone.
